Carbon Fiber Recycling, LLC (CFR) and James Cropper Advanced Materials have been shortlisted for the CAMX 2026 Unsurpassed Innovation Award for UNIMAT™, a high-performance material manufactured using recycled carbon fiber.
The nomination recognizes an established industrial-scale circular supply chain. CFR recovers virgin-quality carbon fiber from pre-pregs, dry fiber, and cured composite scrap at its continuous-flow recycling plant in Tazewell, Tennessee. James Cropper Advanced Materials then utilizes proprietary VECTIS™ alignment technology to convert the recovered fiber into UNIMAT™, a highly aligned discontinuous carbon fiber product designed for advanced structural composite components while reducing carbon emissions by more than 99% compared to virgin carbon fiber.
